So anyone who knows me knows I love sports, and that I’m loyal to the San Francisco/Bay Area teams (San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, San Jose Sharks). I know that compared to other cities, I’m pretty lucky that these teams are all here. The Giants just won three world series this decade, the Warriors obviously with their three championships in the past five years, and although the Sharks have only appeared in the Stanley Cup this decade, at least they consistently make the playoffs.
Still, of all of these sports, Football I feel is the most exciting; games are sparse, which adds to the rarity, and of the other sports, Football truly is a team sport; any weak links affect the game greatly, and team coordination is the most crucial aspect in Football. When football is played well, it is truly an art. Although the Niners have been to the Super Bowl in 2013, they have suffered horrible seasons since then, and just as entertaining great football is to watch, it is equally excruciating to watch bad football, and I’ve been watching bad football for years… until this year.
Now 5-0, the Niners are looking quite promising. It is hard to contain my excitement, but I know that there is still a long season ahead, and injuries can derail everything. Still, after bearing losing season after losing season, I think I can indulge myself a little, while still trying to be a little humble.
